The long awaited brand new roll-on
roll-off ferry service linking Rosyth to Zee-brugge
in Belgium, finally commenced in May of this year.
The launch reception at Port of Rosyth was attended
by leaders of the Scottish political and business
community.
Scotlands first minister, Jack McConnell, said that
the boost to industry and tourism in Scotland that
the ferry service will bring is sorely welcome. "The
new strategic link to Europe provides a valuable new
export opportunity for businesses not only in Fife
but in the Whole of Scotland."
This service should be a major boost to commerce in
the area enabling Scottish businesses to reach the
European mainland directly.
The single journey takes approximately 17 hours in
the Superfast Ferries with one sailing per day in
each direction.
The service carries both freight as well as passengers
and operates all year round.
The cost of the crossing will vary dependent upon
the users needs. Travelling during low - high season,
taking a one-way or return trip or travelling during
the week or at the weekend will also have an effect
on the cost of the trip. For up to the minute pricing
