A brief Tour of Dunfermline
Dunfermline is situated 5 miles from the shore of the Firth of Forth estuary which is bridged by the famous Forth Road Bridge. The building of the bridge over the river Forth near Dunfermline was completed in 1962 after 2 years of construction work. It sits approximately 800 meters away from the famous Forth rail bridge which was a major feat of engineering in its time. Dunfermline has many attractions to offer the tourist. There is a fine park called Pittencreif Park affectionately known by locals as The Glen, with its botanic gardens and statue of the famous steel entrepeneur Andrew Carnegie. There is the famous Dunfermline Abbey which was the center of ancient Dunfermline with its fine architecture and parapet to King Robert the Bruce. It has a fine shopping center with good roads and public transport. Edinburgh, Glasgow, Perth, Dundee and Aberdeen are only a train ride away. The central highlands are two hours drive from Dunfermline and offer the best skiing in the UK.
If you are looking for a base to tour Scotland or you would like the peace and tranquility of the beatiful Scottish town of Dunfermline then please pay us a visit. Its well worth it.
